Embodied NVC - online weekly practice groups

New members are always welcome to attend either practice group. There is a ‘held’ group and a ‘hold yourself’ group - see details below. If you have any doubt about whether you might accidentally pass judgment when someone is anticipating empathy from you then the held group is your best option to begin with. Regular attendance is not mandatory - come to suit you.

For the purpose of building trust and making the session experience more efficient, i.e. to enable us to focus more on experience, rather than ‘logistical’ stuff, I'm inviting you to fill in this registration form prior to the session. It has information and questions which I ask everyone about confidentiality, consent, self-care and feedback.

The first session is free. I then ask for a £1 - £10 contribution for attending subsequent sessions (Bank transfer to AVibrantLife [Mettle/Natwest] 23-69-72 / 30104206, or paypal.me/markwb). NB: Attendance is free whilst you are participating in one of my NVC workshops.

If your well-being is deeply impacted by what happens in this space and you’d like to show your appreciation, I welcome and appreciate financial donations of any amount.

‘You are held’ Practice Space

All levels

Mondays 1.30pm - 3pm GMT

Learn 'Courageous Communication' (i.e to inhabit compassionate consciousness increasingly more fully) and lay the foundations to shift from reactivity to choice.

In these sessions, you are firmly held by the same structure each week. This mean you can practice the skills without worrying about ‘doing it wrong’ or hurting someone’s feelings. I use a variation of ‘empathy poker’ to create a powerful and safe space in which to give and receive empathy.

I like participants to have some NVC experience: having read Marshall Rosenberg's book 'Nonviolent Communication, A Language of Life' is a requirement. Marshall’s YouTube videos are also a great way to experience compassion through NVC.

‘Hold yourself’ Practice Group

Higher Confidence Space

Mondays 7pm - 8.30pm GMT

Practise 'Courageous Communication' (i.e to increasingly inhabit compassionate consciousness) and build on the foundations to shift from reactivity to choice.

In these sessions, you hold yourself within an ‘emergent’ space where practice varies week-by-week according to what’s alive in us.

I like participants to have digested Marshall Rosenberg's book 'Nonviolent Communication, A Language of Life', and a completed foundation training is strongly preferred. Marshall’s YouTube videos are also a great way to experience compassion through NVC.

Foundation Training / Workshops

Together, we bring NVC mindfulness - 'deep listening - informed doing' - into the everyday and cultivate a life of connection, meaning and celebration.

These workshops support you to:

  • connect with and express your healthiest and truest self

  • master honest communication with family, friends and colleagues

  • know and use the immense power of authenticity and vulnerability

Conflict Resolution / Supported Conversations

Conflict may well be inevitable, and an immense source of growth, and… it’s easier walking up a steep hill when there's someone by your side, if you catch my drift.

Via a free-of-charge no-obligation 40 minute initial consultation, I work with couples, relatives, friends and groups in conflict and support you:

  • by creating a safe, fair and transparent space for expression

  • to know and communicate the truth of your position whilst minimising triggering pain in another

  • to move towards being - and eventually be - heard, seen and understood; and to hear, see and understand

One-to-one sessions

Online via Zoom, or face-to-face here in Cornwall, I support you in:

  • deciphering and disentangling thoughts and feelings which are not the expression of your healthiest and truest self

  • developing and mastering head-informed and heart-felt communication, primarily with yourself, and secondarily, with others

  • grounding your actions in the clear awareness of your healthiest and truest self

“The human soul doesn’t want to be advised or fixed or saved. It simply wants to be witnessed — to be seen, heard and companioned exactly as it is.”

— Parker Palmer
